lino in bathroom - underlay needed?

Hi
I have some new lino to fit in out bathroom. The floor has floorboards at the moment. Do I need to fit some plywood on top of them before putting the lino down? If so, what sort of plywood and where do I get it?
Once the lino is down do I need to seal it round the edges to stop any splashed water getting to to the plywood or floorboards?

Yes you should plywood floor first. Normally 6mm depending on how bad the floorboards are. I sand the boards flat before i plywood so i can get away with 4mm plywood. It needs to be exterior grade. Can get from local timber yard, B&Q etc. And it is recommended to seal edges in a wet area. You should also fit the flooring and plywood slightly short. Your sealant will cover the gap.

thanks for the advice. I will get some plywood and give it a go. The room is only 1.5m x 0.75m and then the toilet the same size - so I'm hoping it wont be too difficult!
Do I just nail the plywood to the floor boards?

ring shank nails. Not panel pins etc. Or screw. but heads can show through
