Bubbling noise
Reply with quote Thanks

Hi, I have a potterton supremer boiler and a gledhill boilermate 2. It seems to occaisonally make a gurgling/bubbling noise. It goes when I either turn the thermostat up to winter setting then back down again or when i run the hot water tap for a while. It seems like it's overheating the water or something. I resently had the circuit board changed on the potterton and it worked fine at first but now this. Any ideas?

pure guess work from the little info you have given, but a very common fault with the boilermate is low water level in the cylinder caused by a blocked cold feed pipe.

Cold feed pipe on this is a ridiculous design, just waiting to get blocked. You may have to back fill the system to cure it.

If it is blocked then you boilermate will be acting as a huge crud store for the entire heating system as well as a thermal store icon_eek.gif
