I want to fit a new toilet in a downstairs room. Conveniently the soil pipe from an existing toilet runs close by beneath the floor.

However, the existing soil pipe is cast iron.

Is it possible to cut a section out of the Cast Iron pipe, push Multiqwik extensions into each of the open ends, then use slip couplings to connect a standard plastic Equal Branch? Or should Multiqwik extensions only be used in the downstream direction?

If so, is there any other solution?

Cheers.

Richard.

Yes, probably the correct solution, it's just that I can't easily get to either end of the CI pipe - it runs under footings at two sides of the building, but happens to pass through a cellar immediately beneath where I want to site the new loo.

Tapping into the existin cast iron pipe would therefore be much easier.

I don't support there's such thing as a cast iron equal branch with slip couplings? icon_wink.gif
