Phone the insurance company and get a new one
You will be very lucky if you manage to remove. Best bet is to ring a carpet cleaning firm. They will take one look at it and be able to tell you if it can be removed.

Have passed info. on to daughter and she will be contacting specialist cleaners via her insurance company

Don't be so cynical Freddy & don't believe the rubbish insurance companies say about claims putting up the cost of insurance, they expect to pay out approx 85% of their income in costs & claims, which leaves them a healthy profit.
