Gem combi boiler, overheat stat problem

Hi all

just go a call from a friend who's having a little trouble with a tennant of his.

Basically he has a Gem Combi

and whenever he try's to fill a bath the boiler locks out and the overheat stat light flashes. When he resets all is ok until he trys filling the bat again.

Any ideas?

Probably the calorifier scaling up - it is not worth spending too much on this as spares are hard to come by, but it might be repairable.

lol, sorry mate. Yeah it is the time for it to be changed i think. If fixed now it'll probably start casusing problems again

They are quite simple and reliable boilers.

It should be checked for the usual causes of overheating starting with when it actually locks out.

Most parts can be substituted with generic parts.
