One year ago decorated our front room. New laminate floor, the works. I even took the skirtings off to do the floor properly. I refitted the skirtings, but I used putty to fill the gaps. It was fresh. I then painted over the putty, we had previously painted the skirtings out side. This saved alot of work. However, after what I think was only a few days the putty started to yellow. Was this because I did to leave it set properly?
Thanks D

yes, should`ve been left a week to skin over and dry a bit

Putty contains linseed oil and this will need to dry out properly before painting over. Putty that has gone almost hard usually works better and can be lightly sanded when the hole is filled. less oil in it. ;)

Was it water based paint :?: Oil in putty will bleed through acrylic paints.
