Ok...so here is the problem (please note I have no knowledge of DIY whatsoever)

My front door is locked, and I cant seem to open it in any way.

Details about the door:
Wooden
3 way lock- one at the top and one at the botton with a central lock.
It is a lever handle system- both on the outside and inside.
If you lift the lever the top and bottom locks activate. If you pull it down they go back in.

Right now the locks are in place but I cannot seem to push the lever down to release them. The key worked fine, but now it will go in the chamber but wont turn...so I cannot use that to release either.

Anyway I can do this by myself without having to knock out the door and buy a new one?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Make sure the "bolts" are fully engaged.
Try the key from the other side.

Call a locksmith, better than a new door and might be able to repair the lock.

Lift the handle really fast upwards and then pull down fast and hard, once open( if it opens) spray it all with wd40

Thanks for the replies guys,

I have tried pushing and pulling the handle for 2 days still nothing I'm afraid.

Yeah, I'm trying to call a locksmith, will wait for tomorrow (Monday)...
anyone know where I can get a name of a specialist mulit-lock smith?[/quote]
