I have a single glazed window housed in a double glazing frame. The glazier installed a very neat fitted piece of rectangular wood to 'fill the space' of the 'thickness' of the double glazed window.

I would like to coat this wood with something to make the wood more 'pleasing' to the eye and also make it a bit more resistant to moisture in case of any condensation dripping on to the wood.

Please can someone recommend a product to coat the wood with.

I am sure this is a very easy question for someone to answer.
