Hi Nige, your the man who will know this (hopefully). Would a flapper valve which has been fitted to a syphonic toilet work well?

Is it okay if I ask your opinion on the quotes I've received?
1. Guy with signwritten van, been in business for ages, gas safe, local council registered etc. Seems to have a reputation for doing a pretty good job, but not cheap.
Quoting for drain & disconnect Rayburn,Gloworm Ultracon2 30 CWi with flue in garage, room stat/programmer; Magnaclean; insulating any exposed pipework, flush pipework with inhibitor, clear tanks, cylinder from site; remove basin in bedroom, add radiator in lounge, add radiator in bedroom, remove gas fire. Will give up to 10% for cash - total £3134
2. Recommended man - all the above with Worcester condensing boiler and replacement hot water cylinder. All electrical work will be carried out by a qualified electrician. Total inc VAT £4473 !!!
3. This one is known by my estate agent who says his work is okay. As for 1 above with Worcester Junior boiler. Magnaclean quoted at £135 extra. Tanks would be left in place as could be a problem to remove. Not VAT registered as deregistered. £3005 inc Magnaclean.

Which one to choose?

Thanks

Linda
