No Problem, I'm a fussy git myself and really need boilers working at 100% and worried a few times about things like the soot on the spark electrode. I do lots of DIY and I'm always tinkering with things ( I have my own engineering firm) and just like things to work correctly, especially the heating as I have young ones.
I leave the gas boiler repairs/servicing to the experts, I do not know how to take the cover off. The only thing I do is clean the magnaclean every now and again.
