SWITCH OFF ELECTRICITY AT THE MAINS BEFORE WORKING ON EXISTING CIRCUITS

Firstly mount a fuse connection unit relatively close to the cooker hood, using a 3 amp fuse (see Fitting a Fused Connection Unit). If you wish to mount the fuse connection further away, simply run some cable from it (a 1mm² cable) to a flex outlet situated close to the cooker unit.

Once the cooker hood is fixed in place on the wall (refer to manufacturer's installation instructions), the hood supply cable can be fitted to the fused connection unit or flex outlet if you choose to use one.
