Cigarette burns
  Carpets and Furnishings

 
Trim and remove any burnt fibres. Gently rub the mark with a fine sandpaper and washing up liquid then a leave for a few minutes. Dissolve one tablespoon of borax into one pint of warm water and sponge stain. Rinse off with clean water being careful not to make too wet.
