Immediately rinse with cold water. Mop off surplus water, using liquid detergent gently rub into back of fabric, then rinse. Persistent stains can be treated with a mixture of a little white vinegar, water and methylated spirits. Rinse well and wash as usual.
Mop up liquid, take to dry-cleaners as soon as possible.
When treating furnishings, after dabbing with cold water rub in mild liquid detergent, rinse off with cold water, taking care not to get item too wet. Carpets can be sprayed with soda from a syphon taking care to keep the backing dry.
