Place under a running cold tap. Leave for as long as possible to rinse Apply washing up liquid to back of stain, placing again under running water to rinse. Any remaining stain can be treated with equal amounts of ammonia, lemon juice and cold water. Wash as normal.
Take to dry-cleaners.
Blot off excess, use either methylated spirits or a commercial stain remover. Use a syphon containing soda water, spray over carpet, then blot dry before using the methylated spirits. Follow up with a carpet shampoo.
