  Washable Fabrics

 
Remove as much of the excess as possible. Rinse under running cold water, then sponge with warm water and washing-up liquid. If stain remains, as can happen with strong sauces, i.e. tomato, dab carefully with methylated spirits. Wash as normal.
 
  Non Washable Fabrics

 
Remove as much of the excess as possible. Gently sponge with cold water then blot with tissues or clean dry cloth. If stain persists, dry clean.
 
  Carpets and Furnishings

 
Remove as much as possible. Sponge with cold water, then blot off. Use carpet or upholstery shampoo.
