    I don't believe your spark left it connected as shown, because that would mean your halogen light would be permanently ON.

    There is just one immersion heater shown. The box above it is the thermostat wired to a mororised valve to control the water heating by a boiler.

    Looking at how clean the hole is around the top mounting point, it could be a cavity wall. If so, you'll need cavity wall fixings. Ordinary rawlplugs will never do.
