    Loss of hot water pressure

For the last month or so I've had problems with the hot water pressure in my flat. We have a fairly old conventional boiler, hot water tank in loft and a cold water tank also in loft. Up until recently there were no issues but about a month ago the hot water pressure dropped so much it...

    Lighting Problem

I'm basically now left with 2 sets of cables, I've taken the single black cable out of the equation for the time being as from what I can make out it is not meant to be involved with this light. One of the cables clearly comes from the switch at the top of the stairs, for this light to be...

    Lighting Problem

Ok here goes..... Originally the problem was with the hall light which was controlled from a single switch (lets call it switch1) in the hall and a triple switch at the foot of the stairs, but not in a true 2way way. The triple switch seemed to act as a master. I have taken this light out of...

    Lighting Problem

Well theres actually two, one controls the stair light and one the hall light, hall light is working fine off that switch, granted its now only one way but I can live with that. Its the one that dual controlled the stairs thats bugging me now!

    Lighting Problem

Now found out that the triple switch is powered by a feed from the on the ring main. Rather worrying. I have managed to get my outside light on, its just the stair light and I'm sorted. Problem I'm having is working out which cable is which. More trial and error I think.

    Lighting Problem

Spacecat, All your points are correct. I have disconnected all the terminal block, not the actual switches. But..... The stair light used to work from the triple switch and a single switch at the top of the stairs. 2-way, although not done conventionaly! Some how I've managed to...

    Lighting Problem

Update..... I have disconnected all the wiring on this circuit and have now reconnected most of it an have the Hall light working from the upstairs switch only and the stair light working from the triple switch only. Think it has been badly wired for starters but now I have at least got...

    Lighting Problem

Space cat, Quite simple really. I replace 2 lights, one in DINING ROOM and one in Lounge!! The dining room had a ceiling rose the loung didnt. They are on different circuits though.

    Lighting Problem

Spacecat, Q1, No, downstairs switch hasnot been touched until I opened it yesterday to check the connections which were all fine. Q2, Yes both the other lights on the triple switch work. Q3, No, we have 2 lighting circuits, its def on the same as the other two and the lounge light...

    Lighting Problem

This is the switch at the top of the stairs, very hard to take a pic of the other switch as the cable is very tight. No yellow cable in either switch. Been up in the loft and the whole wiring is a bit messy, about 7 sets of cables all connected through terminal blocks, I can identify which...
