    underground water leak...airlock...or something?

haven't a clue how much the firm charged but i was only charged the £100 excess (as per my buildings insurance) - so a bit of a result as far as i'm concerned... though i reckon (as did the lead guy who did the actual fixing) it would've been a lot quicker and more cost effective to just T...

    underground water leak...airlock...or something?

Just a bit of closure for those people who might be intrested (personally hate threads that just..... hang....) Someone (well 2 people) finally came out (paid via insurance) last week. The head boss man wasn't convinced that we had a leak as he couldn't hear anything (bloody typical...

    underground water leak...airlock...or something?

am sure the inlet/ball valve isn't blocked as at the moment we're filling the tank via a hose pipe connected to the in the pumphouse... though that doesn't mean there isn't blockage somewhere else in the pipe... at the moment i'm digging a trench parallel to the pumphouse to a depth...

Hi all am after a bit of your knowledge/suggestions. we are on private water and are having a few problems but i'm not sure if we've got a leak or not. the pipe from the pump house runs down hill for about 8-12 meters then enters the house (somewhere*) and upto the loft watertank (which...

many thanks tim00 - very informative 8) Lranger - yeah I’m up for it - would rather give it a go than admit defeat before I’ve even tried.... what's the worst that can happen - lol  but we've asked our fitter for a quote - the vinyl we had put down has a manufacturing error on...

vinyl over ceramic tiles - how to without taking tiles up?

Need some advice... We need to vinyl over some kitchen tiles but at the moment it’s not feasible to take up the existing tiles (time constraints && young crawling children). The tiles are smooth 80’s style about 8mm apart (chipped) with about 1-2mm deep grout troughs between them...

...another flat roof...... temp fix possible?

no lead - just a mess of felt, tar, paint(same colour as red oxide paint?!?!) and prob. other stuff - looks like a right botch job - luckily i'm going to add to it  though saying that i haven't actually been up on the roof as yet for a full investigation so if i'm luck they might...

...another flat roof...... temp fix possible?

aye thought about going down the 'sheet' route but the house is in a very exposed location - I'm a bit unsure how to go about fixing the sheet to the house so water/wind doesn't get underneath it - suppose some kind of glue would work?? (garage is a 60's gob-on attached to the side of a 1900s...

...another flat roof...... temp fix possible?

many thanks - confirmed what i was thinking - always nice to have a 2nd opinion. any idea to how much coverage 5kg will give or is it very much dependant on the condition of the felt? [runs off to check ebay]

...another flat roof...... temp fix possible?

Hi, just after some opinions on this... we have a 20sq m2 flat garage roof that is leaking in a number of places. The roof boards are untreated chipboard  and about 30 - 40% of them are shot - the roofing felt is in pretty bad shape (cracks, bubbles Etc... one section even has a...
