    Just finished my towel test and after 40 mins the towel was virtually dry. I checked filter and pump, both look in good nick. I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt for now. Maybe it was feeling lonely and just wanted 3 hours of my time this morning! Thanks to all for your help.
