Hi i'm asking this weird question because i need to make a 1" diameter stick which tapers at the end. The problem i've got is that i can't find a lathe that can take a 6ft project so is there any other tool i can use to make it just as easy?

I've just found out that the pic on the left of my first post uses semi tubular rivets. where can i get these?

i can't use a nut because it will look more messy and they are to be sold so can't look rubish. I'd basically like to have them look the same as the one on the left which they already come with when you buy them but i need to cut the chain then replace the rivet so the chain won't come out...
