Thanks for doing this, that's really helpful!
Mum is deaf and is going for a hearing aid assessment.
Her NHS Audiology dept. is closed, but she is being referred to Specsavers...
In the 70s, my Mum said to us,
"If you fall off that #thing# and break both your legs, don't come running to me."
And then wondered why...
What county are you in, Harry?
Did you ask the kind tester to point out the damage?
My Mum lives alone and has done for decades.
Obviously she likes company and looks forward to family get-togethers, but she lives...
Got a digital cable tester.
I have a 30m Cat 6 lead with plugs already attached. Was going to run that between the router...
But if she keeps her existing TV and we connect a Freeview Play box, I guess only the FP will need an internet connection?
Thanks. Running a cable is not a problem. Plus my lad, who has started an IT apprenticeship, can have some installation experience. :)
Folk here have mentioned the TV needs connecting to the internet.
You wouldn't need to do that if you have a separate Freeview Play...
Thanks but not sure it is a good signal. But generally, I prefer a wired connection as it is more reliable and faster.
One of the reasons I chose YouView was because it had "an award-winning" (and hopefully really intuitive to navigate) interface.
