Hi all,
I'm going to be putting in a double socket to power a POE switch. I am looking to take a spur from a socket on the main circuit.
My question is do you have to, first feed to a fused spur unit before the socket. The socket is going to be in a lockable box which will be labelled 'for...

Hi all
I'm thinking of adding some picket pales to my current picket fence to make it a little more of a solid fence/wind block.
I'm thinking of adding more posts in the ground and adding a big thick rail across the top and then attaching some glass fixing for the 1m x 1m glass panes and...
Yes the old couple had knocked it through before. When we moved in we extended the house for a new living room so we split the room into a dinning room (blue room) with office on the other side.
House was made in the 1940's.
Thanks for all the advice everyone. Really helpful. At least when getting a quote I can tell them what needs to be done so I don't sound clueless....
That's another good idea. How do you tell if the roof is resting on it. Is that dependant on the direction of the joists or any tell tail signs I can look for.
If I can work it out... then maybe just get a bricky to take it down...
Yeah. I'm thinking we could take the stud blue wall down and do it back up in block... putting in a new long lintel across... so we can remove that part of the wall sticking out in the hall.
Hi all
Iv attached 3 pictures.
Opposite our stairs is a jut out of wall in the hall.. the piece of wall continues from the dinning room. We want to remove it. But im guessing there is nowhere for an RSJ to rest both ends on (just 1 end).
The wall inside the dinning room is a stud wall...
One more thing...
The junction box is plastic for the join between swa and t&e. So do I go from the gland banjo earth and join that to the T&E Earth?
So this will mean:
1 earth from swa
1 earth from banjo
Both link to T&E earth.
Just noticed my armoured sheath has a small slit in it.... can I just tape it?? No damage to the earth mental inside.... this section will be in conduit.
Slightly annoying to find!
The way I am running this is -
hot tub - swa to isolation switch - swa house up wall into to loft - split and join to T&E - run through the loft back outside and down the wall in conduit then back inside to a spare MCB 32amp space. Protected by am 80amp RCD.
Hope that clears it up a little
Hi guys
Just wired my 32amp hot tub up, got 3core 6mm swa running to a 32amp isolation switch then back to the house.
My question is for ease can I split this to a twin and earth in the loft and run the twin and earth back to the distribution board?
My plan is, I can use an armoured swa gland...
