hi guys i need some help, i hope i make this clear , i am changing the lights in my hallway of which there are 2 , they r wired into a plastic circular pendant which because of lack of space on new llights i have to change to a block. the first 1 was no problem straight forward enough & work...

everybody has to start somewhere,we are not born into this world with divine knowledge of electrics.

whilst i agree ,you cant expect every one to go through 3-4 years of study to carry out simple diy jobs.

a basic understanding of basic electrics lol (funny enough) the college route to qualified electrician is a little to involved for me even if i could possibly get on a college course,there all boked up to the rafters well in advance.

hi guys can anyone here recommend somewhere that offers the above short course or similar?

well felix turns out u were right i had a good look again today & the bulb was slightly off connecting on 1 side,it was very easy to miss.i might add that i have fitted it properly & everything now works just fine ,so thanks for valid input much appreciated. :P

well for now now im glad that im right for blocking the yellow. the block at light has an extra terminal with 2 whites in but instruction with light only have wires in first 3 allbeit that they havent allowed for extra live. so if i were to put the yellow in with red at light it would not be...

no fuse just bulb

looks like a fuse holder but theres a small bulb in it which has never worked. no fuse as old light worked when switched on

think bulb has gone

cant post images,the swith is a single switch with a red light on it ,which i may add doesnot come on.
