    Replace EV Flexi hose

Hi Is it possible for a DIYer to replace the flexi hose leading to the EV on a grant vort pro boiler? I tried to reenergise the EV but it won't let any air in. The hose does look a bit twisted and knackered. What would I need to turn off and release etc.? Thanks

    Expansion vessel full of water

So for a simple person like me, are you confirming that the installed EV is large enough?

    Expansion vessel full of water

Would that have happened because the CH was off all summer? Thanks, very thorough and informative. So release the pressure via a rad and leave the rad open? I assume the highest rad in the house and be prepared for some water to be pumped out of the rad as the EV is pressurised?

    Expansion vessel full of water

Thank you Harry, I will call them on Monday. The guy said empty the water from the EV directly but it seems that's not needed. I'll have a search for another pipe outlet, tomorrow Strange, maybe my house looks bigger from the outside. This engineer said the EV filled up because it's not big...

    Expansion vessel full of water

He was from Certas. Said his tools were robbed from his van and had no pump to pump up again. Said I should try calling H/O to get another engineer out Its an external boiler and the condensing pipe/drain is all sealed and connected to an outside drain. Will this be the same drain for the prv...

    Expansion vessel full of water

No, no water coming out but it's very heavy with water. Water drops slightly over a few days and the engineer said it's because the EV is full of water. Sounded to me that there's too much water in there that can't push out by itself. I could be wrong

    Expansion vessel full of water

Hi Sorry for another expansion vessel question but I can find this asked previously Had my boiler service yesterday and the engineer said it is full of water and it needs to be drained. He didn't mention anything about having popped. I pressed the valve and zero water came out. I replaced the...

    Siliconing Advice

The previous owner of the house or their builder thought they'd separate the bathroom and bedroom with 140mm block, in the extension. Theres nothing supporting in the room below. When we replaced with stud the floor shifted upwards a noticeable amount but not 100% The back of the shower tray is...

    Siliconing Advice

Hi Does anyone have any advice on what I should do. Had my bathroom refurbished about 2 years ago and the silicone in the shower cubicle does not want to stay sealed. The fitters attempt looked neat but did not stay long, I've done it 2 and 3 times, the last time being a generous and neat job...

    Neighbours patio

My neighbour has recently laid the blockwork for his new patio and it probably about a 1m high at our boundary. It's on sloping ground so probably less than 300mm above the ground at the other end. It's not ideal as they can see in a lot of our garden, but not all. I don't want an argument with...

    Rocktop

Thanks for the very thorough answer. I shall call the manufacturer to check the paint is compatible. Rockwood tin says you can add paint but is none specific on type.
