hi , i have took out a ceiling rose and want to fit a new light in the ceiling. coming out of the ceiling is one cable with live ,neutral & earth, but the switch cable has only one wire which i think is red. i want to fit the feed cable to the light fitting i:e red to red, black to black...

and there must be tonnes of work fixing all the problems cowboys have done. It seems you have been in the game to long & need a change like me or your boss is catching you out using your plunger to unblock the hole or if you are into that sort , the waste. :wink:

already done years of plastering, bricklaying, flagging, pipelayer, landscaper, now i`m bored. Done a few plumbing jobs and have a rough idea how the systems work. but i want to do it properly and get corgi reg in plumbing & central heating. Just turned 40, middle age crisis...

where is the best schooling place to learn the trade but is not in the thousand bracket charge fees and how long our the courses? I hear their about 2 years. :shock:

hi people, My boiler was not working ,so when engeneers came out and checked fuse, the boiler when switched kept blowing fuses. So another electrician came out and done a test on wiring from boiler point. Straight away he found the problem and exactly were it was by using a gadget for fault...

i have just looked at the shower instructions and it says 10.5 = 45a mcb and yes your right it states it must have a 30a rcd and 45a double pole. He has the 45a double pole, wondering why he isn`t using a rcd, thats why i wondering is the elcb good enough. I know he`s upgrading the mcb, i`ll...

Hi , i nearly got my shower fitte, and my neighbour has decided to get one. Problem is because of the shape of his house, their`s no way to run the pipework from the watermain. Can he tap into the watermain frpm the attic and run the pipe work along and then down into the bathroom? :roll:

elcb trips if i unscew any fixing in house, Theirs only one power switch in cu and thats on the elcb. A spark has told me that 32a mcb is okay but rather be safe than sorry. can`t i just get a mcbo instead of rcd :?:
