Right guys not long ago I moved in to a house and had to strip it right back but I have a problem. Under the 6 layers of paper theres paint and its flaky all over the place. And Im stuck on what to do I wont to use paint to go over the old paint but. I don't wont to wall's to look crap so whats the best way to go about painting the wall's to get a ok looking finish ?.

All so if there no easy way to do it would 1000 Gauge Lining Paper be ok to cover over it and then paint.

Sorry for the dummy Questions but at my wits end now as im doing it on my own and its getting me down now in a big big way .
Thanks for any help

Hello this is my first post too, hope i can help.
I am a professional decorator.

Lining paper is the best.
Sand, fill with an internal filler (not polyfiller) and sand again.
Size and line.

Hope this helps :)

Is it a very old property? Six layers of paper it sounds like it may be, in which case you could be looking at distemper which all needs to be removed or nothings going to stick!

Sorry to sound doom & gloom, but worth checking.
