tiles off wall,now left with mess

hi everyone,newbie here

being a female im not very clued up on diy,lol,

ive just took the tiles of my walls in bathroom,floor to sealing,and all the plaster came of,leaving what my dad told me is sand and cement mix on the wall,

now i need to get this re plastered so i can retile it,but im unsure whats the correct way,ive had some plasters round,but getting told different ways to do,so im hoping the pro's on here can help me,as i dont know who to trust and whos telling me a correct way to do it,

some are saying they will use hardwall first ontop of the sand/cement mix,then plaster on top,others are saying they will just use plaster on top of the sand/cement mix



it seems there is alot of people going on these one week courses and im worried i may get one of these,not to say they have not learnt properly,but i would rather hear from someone with more experience,and someone on here wont fill me with a cock and bull story cos they are not after my money,just want to help a lady in distress

first of al u have to unibond (pva and water mix)the sand and cement where you removed the tiles, leave it to dry then apply again to seal the wall , depending on how deep the holes are or plaster that fell of you can either re-skim or being a woman get some ready mixed filler and screed it over bad wall.
if you are re-tiling the wall dont worry about getting it smooth as being a bit rough will help the tile adhesive to stick to the wall.

thank you soulslayer, i forgot to mention,i only intend to tile half up the wall,so will like a good fininsh above the tiles,

there is no origianl plaster left on the wall now,i took it all off,oops, it wouldnt stop falling off lol

i see your prob there are a lot of 6 month wonders out there, thinking on the average size of a bathroom it may cost you around 100-150 pound materials and labour to get sorted .and dont pay nething up front
