Hi all

We purchased a conservatory via Homebase a while ago, when we came to assemble it they had supplied some incorrect parts.

The third party supplier we apparently bought from (we didn't know there was a third party) were Best Value Conservatories and after not remedying the probem for weeks on end they've now gone into administration and won't even PRETEND to send out the parts any more.

I have bought a Victorian Dwarf Wall V1 model; I'm missing a left handed ring beam (or head) and a right handed cill.

Didn't pay by credit card so that route is blocked and Homebase are washing their hands of it. Disgraceful.

What I'm ideally after is a supplier of the missing parts, I've tried other manufacturers but drew a blank so far.

Very aggrieved, anyone who can help is an instant hero of mine.

If you purchased at Homebase (ie paid them) then it is their responsibility with no debate, and you should pursue them via the usual means - contact the head office, Trading Standards, county court (small claims)

Otherwise, plastic conservatories are pretty standard and the parts should be available from other suppliers who use similar profiles

And there is a charge-back facility on VISA (and Maestro?) debit cards for non-supply of goods. If you used one of these contact your bank/card issuer

I googled "conservatory parts" and there seems to be quite a few places where you can start your search.

You say that you were not aware that you bought through BVC but thought you were buying from Homebase. If you paid Homebase then they must put it right. At what point did you realise that you were dealing direct with BVC ?

Sometimes these sheds try and fob you off with the deal direct with the manufacturer bull.

Thanks for the replies folks, much appreciated

To be honest it's one of those where I didn't pay attention until I realised there were parts missing, went to Homebase and they told me to deal with the manufacturer

I'll try the google search, believe it or not 'conservatory parts' hadn't occured to me, I have just been calling conservatory suppliers

I worked for BVC up intill last week where we were all made redundant, the company is still going through the administration process, i have no idea if they are still able to send parts out, it might even be worth checking with wickes (who by the way were the cause of us going into administration from what i have heard) as i know they are still trying to deal with customer complaints so they 'may' have bought our stock.

Thanks. Will do re: Wickes. I called BVC, they won't send parts out. Wouldn't even confirm that if I did the 300 mile drive up there they'd let me collect.

ps Hope your employment situation is sorted.
