do you have a hot water cylinder?
motorised valve could be passing.
when this happens feel the pipes out of the valve are they all hot or is one cold ?

Ive got the same problem with my combi boiler.
After posting about it on here I found out that the boilers diverter valve may be faulty.
It seems to be allowing the hot tap water to leak into the central heating pipes instead of diverting it straight to the taps.
