I have been asked to quote to supply and fit a Ryfield dist. board for 5 flats. Is it not the case that, as the board fits after the head but before the meters, it is the DNO's responsibility to supply and fit?

Don't for get the landlords supply, so you need a 6 way.

Thanks Holmslaw. It is 4 flats plus landlords, I was just too lazy to type all that.

Does the Ryfield require an incomer kit. or does it connect directly from the head.

In my area the DNO supply you with the ryefield board, and you fit it and the trunking for the meters and your sw-fuses.

The ryefield may be inplace of the head, or sat ontop of it.

Just noticed your in Surrey, change markup to 500%.

Jobs in South East London so 100% it will be.

You done any prep work for new mains positions before?

Several new build houses but not flats.

Well, make sure you get the spec, diagrams, and everything. usually you have to provide steel trunking with slots cut so meters can be sat on it, you evan provide the tails for the energy company to connect their cut-out to their meter with, and don't deviate. Not one bit, do it exactly as they want, and be there to babysit the mains when they come, and be prepared to alter stuff/argue as appropriate.

If you've had the delights of dealing with EDF before you may already be aware of all this, my most an4l threatened cancellation to date was because I'd stuck a 4mm single as a draw wire in the duct and not a 6mm poly rope. "Not to spec, gonna have to cancel"
