We have had one of these fitted in our new bathroom:

http://www.truste-marketing.co.uk/uk_dir/products/5489058.html

and to be honest there doesnt seem to be as much air being extracted as we would expect. The specs that came with it says that it extracts 70m3 per hour.

Its an inline unit that has a live, neutral and switched live supply on a 100mm tubing and I was wondering if anyone here can recommend a higher thoughput fan that I could use instead !?

Many thanks in advance!

He would need separate timer unit to work with that fan as it hasn't got one built in.

True - thanks for the recommendation however.

Are there any others like the one above that have a timer ?

EDIT:

Just found one (thats rated at 110M³/Hr - 31 litres per second):

I am tempted to get this one, is it too powerfull (at 160m3/hr - 2500rpm - 35watts) ?? :

Or even this one (at 250m3/hr - 1880rpm - 39watts!) :

:BUMP:

I know its an old thred of mine but I never got round to sorting it out and the bathroom gets fairly steamy now (the original 70m3/Hr is rubbish).

I wondered if anyone knows if any of these three listed above would be OTT for a 2m x 3m bathroom ?

The outlet bit connects to a proper marley roof tile.

Basically I have a choice of :

1) 110m3/Hr - 31 litres per second
2) 160m3/hr - 2500rpm - 35watts
3) 250m3/hr - 1880rpm - 39watts

Any thoughts (i'm not bothered about cost)?

EDIT: I just phoned them direct and they suggested that I used thier online calculator:

So just going to try that now....

How about? http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=100593&ts=74498&id=50632[/QUOTE]

thanks but I was after an inline fan. I did the calcs using the link above and they came out at 161m3/hour so I went for this one:

Thanks for the help anyway.

Hmm - 12 months after fitting this extractor fan it has just packed in. The timer function on it no longer seems to work and when the fan is switched off it still remains on (i have to kill the power to the whole unit to reset and switch it off).

I have checked the power to the unit and it has the following supply:

1 - Live permenantly on
2 - Live switched
3 - Neutral

I have tested the inputs and they are reading normal.

I have contacted TLC and also the people that make the unit and as my warranty has expired I have no option now but to either try and get the unit fixed or buy a new one. I am fairly conpetent when it comes to electrical units (I did a degree in elec eng) so I wondered if anyone has any hints or tips (maybe a circuit diagram) of these units ?

**UPDATE**

Fixed it - just replaced the 2.2uF and 100uF electrolitic capacitors on the PCB and its working again.

Thanks anyway!
