Programmer packed up today. No water or CH ordered a new one but mey not come until after XMAS. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to hot wire the terminals to temporarily keep the heating and water running. If so which terminals(marked 1-8 on the baseboard. Otherwise maybe a cold XMAS any help appreciated.

If you can't get one I have a honeywell st6400 time clock in the van and I live near Malton. It should interchange easy enough.
5day 2 day or switchable to 7 day setting options.
Are you sure that is your problem though?

Thanks for that offer Parkymike if I can't get from local merchants will contact you again. I am not sure it the programmer. This is the scenario. This afternoon the heating decided to only come on only when the hot water was turned on on the programmer. It would not come on by itself. Thermostat seems ok as it is 'clicking'. The programmer has been playing up for some time losing the timings etc. When I took it off the terminals 6 & 8 are burnt out. I will have to replace but if this is not the cause the only other thing I can think of is the motorised valve. Didnt quite understand your final words. Does this mean connecting the terminal 1 to 3 and 2 to 4. rather wait if I am likely to blow myself up!!.
If anyone has any thoughts on the problem this would be greatly appreciated.

I've edited my post to show what wires you swap from old terminal number on the current clock to the st6400 clock.
I wouldn't advise linking anywires for a temporary fix as I saw the burnt out shell of a building where someone tried that once.
If the terminals are showing signs of burning it's definately first to swap on the list.
I will check for posts as I don't want to put my phone number up all everyone will think I am a free helpline service.(get enough of that from local customers)
