Hello, :) I`ve just moved into a property where this boiler has been laid up for a while. The problem is that when the boiler fires up no heat is getting to the radiators, in fact no heat seems to be getting out of the flow pipe from the boiler. The pump seems to be o.k but after a while the boiler cuts out, I did manage to draw some heat to one radiator after being advised to put a hose on the drain off on one of the radiators, but it`s still doing the same after removing hose ( the radiator just goes cold again & the boiler cuts out after a while, it`s as if it`s overheating itself. Anyone have any ideas, thanks in advance. There`s no manual either, if anyone could tell me where to download one I`d be grateful.

Under the boiler on the two outer pipes (22mm) there is a couple of isolator valves make sure they are turned on

Is the hot water ok?

Under the boiler check that the flow and return isolators are open.

Does the Central heating light come on?

Not sure about trv`s but isolators definitely open, would every trv on all rads be stuck though? will check it out and get back, Thanks.

Quick update chaps. Had Baxi engineer out this morning, he done whatever tests they do and has informed me that the boiler is doing everything it should be doing and it must be a problem in the pipework, but I am getting some heat to all radiators before the boiler gets to about 50 degrees on the indicator then cuts out. Baxi say that they have done their bit and it`s basically not their problem, ( somehow don`t think I`ll be recommendending them or their products to my friends ). Anyone got any ideas? Most appreciated.

But the faults not with the Baxi boiler.

It was the overall attitude of the engineer & Customer Services to be fair, I accept it may not be the boiler it was just the ``not our problem mate`` attitude that left a bit of a sour taste, I had to fight just to get an engineer out after arguing that the boiler was still under warranty, anyway that`s beside the point, if anyone can help I`d be most grateful, Thanks again Gents.

you need to remove and check the filter in the htg return isolation valve it could be blocked

Thanks for that but I have already checked that before the engineer`s arrival, it was clear. I`m baffled and freezing,

Stick a hose on and empty it then turn on filling loop with hose still attached and open one at a time the isolator valves so it forces water through system in different direction ,See if it moves anything.

But the 50 degree thing is making me suspicious even without circulation i would expect that to hit 80 degree light very quickly

Sorry Namsag you are quite right it does hit 80 before cutting out, my mistake, do you think it`s a blockage in the pipework?

The only other thing i can think off is one isolater valve is not turning within its self although the knob is turning.

What did you have in before and what was changed and did it ever work after new boiler

Thanks, it`s a new property, I don`t know know what was in before but I assume that this boiler was working because it has been registered, it is only 18 months old and I have had Baxi out, not sure if I`m happy with their diagnosis though.
