Please Help, I have had a bubbling noise resounding through the central heating radiators for a while and it looked like what was needed was the system flushing and refilling with an additive. This I did last week which solved the problem. Now I have a new one. over the weekend the heating and water are both cold, the pilot light is still lit, the room thermostat clicks on but the boiler doesn't fire up. The boiler thermostat clicks at 0 but nothing, please can any one help as penguins are nocking at the front door....

Could be Gas Valve.

Corgi territory for tomorrow.

Crapita on Wednesday.

Corgi Guy came out today, I was hoping for the thermostat but like you say he thinks its the valve he's ordering on for tomorrow. Cheers

Valve being fitted friday, can any one tell me what happens when the gas valve "goes"? what goes and why does it go?

you drained and refilled and now its not working

i hope the guy checked all problems relaeted to this first before calling the gas valve

let us know how you get on

if the solenoid goes open circuit it won't open mains gas but a pilot can stay on.

it worked for a week no problem, what could be the problem with flushing the system then a week later boiler doesn't fire up?

Well if pilot is on but no mains, then is it continuosly sparking??

Is there an overheat stat which has tripped and interupted the gas supply to the main solenoid?

Expensive to fit a new gas valve if that were the only fault!

Tony

if it has a perm pilot (not electronic ignition) it could be over heat stat tripped (think its on rh side but need to remove bottom panel to get to it red button)

Would only have O/H if was sealed system from what I can remember
