I recently bought a compost bin and now want to stick it in the back garden

The garden is ready for it

However, it's one of those plastic bin types and very lightweight

How do I hold it down ?

When the council delivered it I was at work; when I came home it had blown into my neighbours garden ...... and there was hardly any wind

Any tips would be welcome

thanks !

HAPPY EASTER !!

couple of growbags emptied into the bottom of it as a "starter"?

couple of breezeblocks or bricks in it?

My "Green Fingered" wife tells me that Compost bins don't have a bottom in, & they must sit on soil to start working. So put a weight on its top until it starts getting full & always cut the stuff as small as possible.
Hope this helps.

hmm market for "kitchen waste liquidiser"? ;)

anyway.. if it doesn't have a base in it then a fence post or two hammered into the ground by it and screw / strap it to it / them...

But ours has a lift up flap at the bottom to get stuff out of, so to bury it would be pointless.

Some have a lip around the bottom edge, either with or without holes. If yours is like this you can drive some long skewers into the ground to hold it in place.
Some don't though, in which case you can still drill small holes around the edge and drive the skewers in at a slight angle.
Deppending on the soil you might need longer skewers, or more of them to hold it.
Stuff in the bottom will definatly help keep it in place particularly if it is sllightly conical in shape.
