Help getting rid of garden waste!?

Hi,

I'm digging a border out of my garden and I've only dug up a small patch of grass and it's filled a green bag up and weighs a ton!

Any tips for how I get rid of it all? Do I need to hire a skip?

I've got about 10m2 of grass to get rid of.

no, you could always put it in socks strung around your neck, walk along and pull pins out of the socks, releasing what you have hidden in the socks.

I suspect its mre than grass you are digging up, be that intentionaly or not, so as you will have some surplus to requiremnts materials, unless you want to make it into compost then you are going to have to get rid of it, a skip would seem a wise option

turn it dirt side up and lay it out on the patio for a fed dry days until the dirt has dried out, then beat it with a shovel to get the excess dirt off it..

simon - pile it up (upside down) in a corner of your garden, after a shortish while you'll have a load of lovely enriched (composted) loamy soil to dress your border with ... the plants will love it. Never throw-out stuff that can be composted.

Thats not what Mr T says.

He says, grass up on first bit, grass down on 2nd bit. repeat until you have a pile (or to put it another way grass to grass, soil to soil)
But suppose the OP has not got the room? 10m (squared) is a lot of grass

If you're digging the garden anyway why not just bury the turves face down a spit or so deep (that's what I always do)? Ordinary lawn grass will just rot down at that depth but if you're worried at all just kill it all off with weedkiller first.
