hi
i have regular conventional boiler Halstead hero 40 fitted 3 years ago it began to turn off on its own about 4 weeks ago, so as the 6 radiators are old i put in salamandar sludge remover 3 weeks ago, in this time the boiler has been going off from time to time, but yesterday it completely gave up the ghost and wont fire up at all, any advise or information would be appreciated  :?:

Get the boiler serviced. Often, system components pick up dirt and dust to get clogged up/ become sluggish. Boiler service entails cleaning, setting and testing that restore system operation to 'factory setting'. If fault still persists, faulty component can be replaced.

hi
thanks for that. but i cant afford to get boiler serviced till the end of the month as moneys too tight to mention. Is there anything we can try meantime to remedy this. there is a dull light on now when i switch the boiler on as if its now really trying to go on.
as before im grateful for all advise.

DP who replied above, covers your area.

If you speak to him nicely there is always a possibility that he will accept a forward dated cheque with a guarantee card. We often do that for our clients who have a cash flow problem as it gets their boiler sorted out without waiting.

Unfortunately the cost of card acceptance is very high on a small turnover and we would have to pass that on as an addition and all our clients would prefer to avoid that little extra.
