Hi,

Moved into our house and have no manual for our Vaillant turbomax 242E boiler. We now can only get hot water when we put the heating on. Does anyone know how I can get hold of a manual? I have tried the Vaillant website and have had no luck and can't find one anywhere else?

cheers

ring Vaillant on monday they should be able to supply you with a copy or someone might have a download for you if you stick around.
the current problem is most likely the diverter has packed up get a gassafe RGI to come and fix it for you (should only take 25 - 30mins to fit once he's got it)

You must have a crystal ball, as she doesn't have an e-mail in her profile

If anyone could email me the manual too I'd appreciate it. I've got the same problem on a mates boiler and seems to be pretty common. Planning to get a diverter valve service kit and start by changing the diaphragm. I've changed diverter valve (the other, solenoid type) on an 824e? I had a few years ago. Looks straight forward enough. What I'd like to check is how to drain just the boiler with the CH service valves isolated, if anyone can help with that.
I've emailed vaillant asking for the manual too. I'm trying to avoid registering on a manual download website if I can help it.

just above the ch iso valves youll see a nipple either side. really only big enough to get a small dia tube on. crack these open using a spanner.
