hi all iv just finished my annex roof iv got a horrible feeling in my stomach that the roof is gonna condensate i dont know why iv used 3/4 shuttering with 4"kingspan in between the joists and foiled back plaster board and 2"kingspan in the walls and foil pb on the walls does any one know if this will occur it also has gas boiler in there as well with 2 radiotors if this helps

well its a slighty sloped roof with felt on it and a aoid of about 6"from the top of the ply to the plaster board so iv put 4"kingspan in between each joist so theres only a void of about 1.5"above i spoke to my old boss who is also a builder and he said it would nt need vents in as its such a small area and i did mention about some sort of vapour barrier but i just used foil backed pb hope this helps

Hi. You may well get away with it. Most of the bad situation i have witnessed have been roofs above high water vapour areas, kitchens / washing rooms creating commercial levels of steam. When winter comes monitor the effect before carrying out major works. Good Luck

Hi iv spoken to a building inspecter today and he agreed it should nt condensate cause theres nothing in the ceiling to for condensation to form on only timber so hopefully fingers crossed it should br ok thanx for advice everyone
Agrees with justlead1. Wait untill cold winter then monitor situation. No need to waste money on something that might not happen.
