Hello,

I have recently aquired my mum and dads old pine kitchen table. I wanted to tidy it up a bit as it has been sat out in their garage for a number of years.

I have read a number of topics regarding cleaning up an old pine table with steel wool and wax, which sounds great. I just have one further question. Unfortunately the bottoms of the table legs are a little frayed around the edges. I think this may have been caused by it being dragged around the garage. What would be the best way of repairing this?

Many Thanks

Tom

I'd recommend you clean the table down with some Joynes Wade Waxless Cleaning Polish then apply wax polish using some OOOO steelwool.

For the frayed edges, lightly sand them smooth then apply 2 coats of shellac sanding sealer sanding back between coats and finishing off with OOOO steelwool and wax polish.

Hope this helps
