Nice one, Cyril! Don't know the distances involved but make sure the resistance of this conductor does not exceed 0.05 Ohms.

In your experience, will the resistance of this length of conductor fall with the 0.05 Ohm limit?
Yes it will be fine! Would need to upgrade to 16mm when run approaches 30-35m

Think of the extra work you have.
Another recent post mentioned codes for 'missing' MEBC's , so an explanation of a 'departure of the regs' (code 1 (imo), requires urgent attention) to the customer, and an explanation of the dangers which exist should 'seal' the job !

Thanks edward! I accept everyones advice and a spark should know these things but not when my main experiance is in containment and circuit wiring! Everyone is still learning and ill now look in my books and find out what i dont understand!
But you're taking people's money on the basis that you are fully qualified, and registered, and able to self-certify that your work complies with the regulations....
Then the person who decided to decorate before doing the electrics needs a damned good kicking. What's going to happen if some buried cables turn out to be dodgy and need digging out from the walls?

"Earthing" and "Bonding" are different learn that first and understanding the other principles that apply will be easier. (for eg, Gas pipes are not earthed (not since the 50's) however they are bonded (with yellow and green cable, the type you would use for earthing).
Speaking as an electronics design engineer with several years of working on industrial control systems I have to say that it is not uncommon to find that the factory's Qualified Electrical Engineer has the skills and ability to work from a detailed drawing but does not understand the basic principles behind the electrical charactoristics and operation of the circuitry he or she is installing.
