Venting Fire Doors

Hi I need to vent a top-floor boiler cupboard, problem is the fire brigade are insisting on a 30-minute fire door so i cannot vent through the door - even with intumescent vents as it needs to be 30-minute smoke door as well.

I could put a vent through the roof next to the flue but would that be enough? Wouldn't I need another vent at a lower level?

Erm, I don't actually know the make or model of the boiler (should do v soon) but I think it's a 'normal' combi and unlikely not to need vented.

The way I see it any vent, except direct to the outside (ie roof in this case), would screw up the fire rating of the boiler cupboard


Any bright ideas?

the boiler manufactures instructions will tell you if any compartmental ventilation is required. if its a combi its very doubtful any way, if its an open flued appliance then its a different ball game and sujest you seek the help of an RGI>
