There was one last year, too: 03:04:05 06/07/08.

Then there's:

00:01:02 03/04/05

etc, etc....

Then you can go backwards:

etc, etc.....

because they are lazy and it removes one word when saying it... "of"

we say "fourteenth OF june, two thousand and nine.."
they say "june fourteenth, two thousand and nine.."

The Aussies do their cricket commentary different to us - we would say 128 for three whilst the Aussies would say three for 128.
