Its very time consuming having trainees. I only take adults and because I am so selective I can say that I have had some very good ones, some of which post on here. Those who telephone, if they cannot speak reasonably understandably, have no chance.

I am looking for an apprenticeship, and to start off with I wont expect no pay until I am experienced enough not too slow the job down, I am also in london and am willing to travel.

When you work as a sole trader you can do what you like regarding health & safety, if you want to crawl up a roof ladder instead of scaffolding etc you would probably do it, no need to insist on a proper loft ladder /lighting & handrail etc when indoors as my recent plumbers did.
But as soon as you employ someone you have a duty of care to protect that person from work hazards so beware
