In good old tradition, with the Bank Holiday looming, I wondered what projects people have planned?

We're hoping to fit our new house alarm and finish decorating the bedroom. Doesn't sound like much, but while you're clearing out at the same time the space is limited! ;)

I'd love to her what everyone else is planning as it might give me more ideas!

I will be repairing my scooter after some dozy lorry driver waved a pedestrian in front of me.

I am going to knock down my old shed and start to build a new one from scratch

finishing tiling the kitchen, grouting it, putting the units in, fitting the countertops, fitting the hob and oven, fitting the wall tiles, finishing the electrics, papering the walls, painting the ceiling, refitting the radiator, flushing and refilling the CH system....
and then after lunch on saturday.........

and during the tea breaks ever hour or so, I will be answering the thousand or so questions that are bound to crop up in the electrics forum.. this weekend will likely be mostly..... cookers I'm thinking.. might be light switches again, or garden electrics if it's nice..

Steve22, a new shed is a great idea for a bank holiday project....and so is filling it!

ColJack! All I can say is wow!

I see you are the electrics guru then, definitely something to remember ;) Will you be posting pictures of your project or do you have a thread already? I'd love to see it.

I'm enlarging the entrance to the loft and fitting a loft ladder.

So far I've cut the ceiling out and fitted new trimmers (it's a bit worrying when you're at the stage of having floppy unsecured joists).

Now I have to try to lower the preassembled hatch and frame down into the hole and fix it. (Must remember to open the door before I do this: the catch is only accessible from the underside.) The instructions are pictorial: a picture is not worth a thousand words and the diagrams leave a lot unsaid.

oh and Foxhole? you never got back to me on the counter top thread..

I have started an extension on the side of the bathroom dormer to house the new boiler, so far I've moved the soil pipe and installed the RSJ (well 2 bits of heavy angle 3.5"x2"x0.5" welded together).
So w/e is to strip roof tiles remove rafters build timber frame. Strip wall tiles, battens, felt, make the existing 2" walls 4" install insulation reclad the whole dormer with membrane, battens, lead flashing, tiles. Fit roof joists to new bit, strip old flat roof felt and decking, install insulation, redeck and cover to make waterproof (roofer reckons he needs 2-3 days notice) fit upvc fascias.
Stop for a cup of tea, sounds easy doesnt it?

Well, I have curtain poles to go up in all the rooms, lights to wire, light switches to fit, living room to paint, garden to tidy, kitchen to fit...

erm... yeah. not going to happen :)

Booked in for an eye operation at 8am Friday so should have a nice quiet weekend with a patch over one eye.

Will not be able to focus properly to do any work but will be able to squint to see my pint.

I have completed one of my BH projects today.

I managed to fit my X reg Renault Megane into 2 plastic recycling boxes & a couple of bags.

Cambelt went & broke the engine so I have stripped it of absolutely everything that I could remove from the steering wheel to the otors in the doors etc.
As I have another now I'm either going to oard them for never to be used spares or Ebay them.

Tomorrow I get to start on er indoors BH project list (the kitchen) :D

extending a vent pipe @ my house.- doing away with the Durgo - so I`m using a pan connector and a multiquik extension to get through a Pinch Point. Well, it`s only air innit  Then a lead slate from some I aquired earlier ( sorry vicar) Yep, a true Country Job ;)
