I have an internal light in a utility room which has been wired by taking a wire from the existing loom and placing a switch halfway through.

As a result of renovating the kitchen/dining room this extension has been disconnected somehow. Unfortunately I still need a light in this room and i don't want to start ripping the new rooms apart to get it back.

I have a potential junction in the loft where I could take a wire from that and bring it down a floor into the utility - the only problem being it would have to go outside from the loft down to the utility.

Obviously I would need some heavy duty wire, but is this safe or legal to do?

it may be something as simple as a wire come out of a light fitting somewhere..
have a good look before you start coming up with crazy ideas..

do it right and safe, or don't do it at all..

believe me i hate messing with electrics as i'm not confident of getting it right.

I have checked light fittings nearby and all of them are wired up correctly.

I think i may check them again.
