Texecom Odessey Bell Box 1E

C

cabot

I fitted a rectangular 1E horizontally primarily because of where the cable exited the wall .Had i fitted it vertically then the cable would have been too near to the outside of the bell box.I have since noticed that the manufacturer specifies fitting this model vertically.Should this have any detrimental affect on the product as it looks perfect on the eye and is nicely centred above the centre line of the front door?

From the security point of view the cable should, as pointed out by Texecom should enter the box from behind.

Installing hundreds/(thousands?) over my many years I suspect I could count on two hands or less the number that do not have a rear cable entry, in that case they have had galvanised pipe as the cable protector.

Current & past standards require rear entry, but hey, DiY = do what you like!

I had to fit it horizontally as opposed to vertical so that the cable entry was centered. So that it could not be pulled out by some toe rag sticking something up the back and trying to pull out the cable.Mind you carry on, as i have it recorded on hard drive cctv and you would have to get past the rotwellier and the wife as well.

What do you think happens if the cable is pulled out, nothing?

Don't be so naive, boxes just get pulled or smashed from the wall, or in the past or even now by someone who thinks he can over come the box, foamed.

As an aside, I accidentally put you in my 'Ignore' list when trying to hit the 'Quote' button, do you have any idea how to 'get you back' if you see what I mean?

Just click on where it says "Click here to view your entire Ignore list"

It brings up an option to unignore next to each person on your list.
