Electronic immoblizer has activited when trying to start help please.

bit more info needed i think,
has it just started doing this,
have you changed the batteries in the remote fob(if you have 1)?

Hi more info........
I tried to start my car with my spare set of keys..not the normal ones that I use! Didn't think ot would make a difference!

The car wouldn't start & the eletronic immoblizer icon showed on dashboard.
I can't use my normal keys to start now & the car is stuck outside my door!
Thanks for your prompt answer but I don't know how to de-activate immobilizer!

Got the answer....
ring the RAC!

The RAC man put the original key in the ignition turned it to start.. within a few minutes the immoblizer reset itself.. yipee

So my car is now off to the scrap yard! Trading it in for a new VW golf..via scrappage scheme!
