Bosch condenser dryer model WTE69, 3 years old.

The filter indicator light on the dryer was illuminating during the cycle. The door filter is cleaned regularly and was clean but we gave it a thorough clean dryed it out. Next time we used the dryer the same happened.

So we re-cleaned the door filter and the air cooler box which was quite dirty. Now when the dryer is started it trips the RCD on the fusebox within 40 seconds.

Everything is dry. I also put a fan heater blowing towards the air cooler compartment without the air cooler inserted to make sure it is all dry. Tried again and the RCD still tripped.

There are no other appliances on at the same time and the dryer has never caused the RCD to trip before.

Any ideas on what could be causing this problem?

Thanks.

Or try disconnecting to isolate it & insulate wire terminal while you switch on.

If you disconnect it & it does not trip the rcd then it is a fair bet that it is faulty
