Hello, i've noticed that the bottom few rails on my chrome towel rail, on their undersides, have signs of corrosion. The tops of the rails look fine, as do the higher rails. It's 3 years old - is this normal? Is it ok to leave, or is this bound to get worst? Why's this happened - could it be due to high levels of condensation in the bathroom (there's always wet towels on there) , or corrosion from inside out? Thanks for any info, Matt

not unusual for cheapo shed sold rads
if its beside a WC then it will be even worse as urine splashes are corrosive to chrome and stove enamelling.

It was fitted as part of a whole new system - new rads, boiler etc. So, does it need replacing sooner rather than later, or is it just cosmetic? Sorry for the questions, just my wife is 37wks pregnant and i don't want any heating problems creeping up on me. Thanks.

Won't be a problem for a long long time - purely aesthetic.

Congrats on the forthcoming baby.

Thanks very much for the replies, much appreciated. I can get back to worrying about the baby now!
